The World of Attitudes

Hi people..I am going to introduce and take U all to a new world i.e.. the World of Attitudes.So come on and travel with me there through this post.
The world revolves with the Latitudes and Longitudes which are based on Altitudes;Similarly We revolve with our Attitudes.So every where the word "Tude" plays a major role.

Attitude is not an approach and the notion that we have towards anything, for that sort it can be anything from a small ant to antelope or Ami's etc....I would say attitude is a reaction to every action hence its like a stimulus.What ever we have in our mind will be reflected in our actions.That's an attitude.If we try to hide the reality in us and pretend ,that is also an attitude which will not last long.
Attitude, off late, has become a "Corporate" term.Every where U go in an IT firm u will be able to hear this word quite often used.I couldn't understand in the beginning, what is an attitude all about.....But then my experience with the industry made me understand that the attitude which they mention in corporate ethics is behavior.It is again the behavior, right from a security to a manager.
In the beginning I said I'm going to introduce to a new world.But I feel for the so called "Corporates" this is not a new thing and its quite a disgusting thing as the entire carrier is based on this attitude and of course appraisal too...What ever or how ever good U perform it matters to a very menial extent.But the majority is for the Attitude which we have and which we pose towards people in various situations.


 They define few types of attitude too....Assertive,Aggressive and Submissive.Hm in this post I would like to emphasis and discuss on the Corporate meaning of the word attitude and how it is misused and miss using people too.
 Aggressive attitude is a straight forward reacting attitude but with Lil harsh emotions.For example if a team member asks another member to help him and if the person responds "No I cant,U ask some one...." it refers to an aggressive attitude and of course behavior.
Submissive is to oblige to everyone and everything around u lacking individuality and leading to a non vertebrate attitude.For instance U have some important work and Ur buddy(" so called colleague-friend in corporate") asks u for some help...U r not refusing and u r taking it not knowing how to refuse to him in a descent way and also due to Lil scare.At the same time U r being offered a very urgent work by Ur PM and U accept it too.See u r in a mess now but u think that u r good to every one at one point.But u r letting the trouble in to Ur own pocket.

These two attitude forms(aggressive and submissive) are like digging Ur own grave.Its not good to be harsh to a person as well as very soft , making them to boss u.
So the third form(assertive) is the best one.Assertiveness is to make things done by some person by going along his way.For instance if a person asks u for a help and u r busy with an urgent work,U can deny him but in a polite way.U can say " Hey sure let me help U but can U give me few minutes,I am in the verge of completing an important task,Let me complete quickly and definitely help U after that..U also keep trying and I l for sure join U".This is a neat and descent way of expressing our views and refusal....U may help him or not or he could have completed his work by the time U go and ask him.That's not the problem,but the person is not sad as U have explained Ur state in a clear way there by encouraging him to continue his efforts and U have not expressed Ur denial aggressively.


But I feel the third form portrayed as the best to deal with people officially and now a days even personally is like a form of selfishness and a pleasant insult.I feel personally its better to tell openly what we feel to a person than beating on the bush.But We have to tell it politely.Anyways every one in this world is living for something only.So there is no separate class of people called selfish people.


OK now Am going to bring in another familiar term for all the ITans that is bottle neck.The literal meaning of it is some obstacle in our task completion successfully.But here Am going to give a new coined meaning for it.I have seen few people in my work place,when they join the company they will be very usual.Lil fearing and professional.But after few days suddenly I have seen their neck raising like a bottle's neck and it will be facing the sky only.Are they trying to discover anything in this space????I wonder....But they will be putting up an attitude and looks in a strange way.They wont mind people, wont respond properly to them, remain aloof,and pride.Why this happens....This bottle neck is a bottle neck for their success definitely.When people start talking about them in groups they think that they are in a high position and every one is mean and comparitively lower to them.Since they have joined newly everyone will be eager to know about them.It will lasts for few days only.But because of this thinking, high attitude people will lose good contacts and helping minds near them in the vicinity.

There are lot many examples for attitude.But to put it in a nut shell I wont say attitude depends on people and it varies from people to people.It depends on situation and how best we use that situation.People who know how to face their life and get along knowing how to react in different situations to different people is finally the attitude.Our attitude decides our altitude.
